An introduction to Hashkata meditation, as taught by Rav Kalonymus Kalman Shapira (the Piaseczno Rebbe). The four main steps of Hashkata meditation are: 1. Observing our thoughts 2. Verse contemplation: citing a biblical verse 3. Word repetition for ethical transformation 4. Concluding the practice by chanting a Nigun based on Psalm 86.11 : Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Let my heart be undivided in reverence for Your Name. הוֹרֵנִי יְהוָה דַּרְכֶּךָ אֲהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ יַחֵד לְבָבִי לְיִרְאָה שְׁמֶךָ.
