Description

What does it mean to be Free, and what does it take? Just at the time that flowers and plants break through their buds in the Spring, on Pessah, we celebrate our second birth: our Exodus from Egypt. According to Hassidic Masters, Egypt, Mitzraim, should be read Meitzar Yam- the narrow Ocean straits, which symbolically represent our birth canal. Yes it takes breaking through the matrix of many unconscious patterns and daring exiting the comfort zone, as painful as it can be, of our conditioning, in order to be truly free. This is the great Teaching of the Holiday of Pessah, and this is one of the main goals of Jewish spiritual practice. Join Rabbah Dr. Mira Neshama Niculescu for a mini retreat of meditation, learning, inquiry and intention setting, in order to prepare for a meaningful, transformative and liberating Pessah. ********** Retreat is sometimes referred to as “Hitbodedut” in hebrew. It is described in the teachings of various Jewish sages, such as the Rambam (Maimonides) and his son, the Raavam. ********** Half day online retreats are an ideal way to deepen our practice without needing to take time off, and to integrate extended meditation in the midst of our daily life setting. The half day retreat will comprise: - Kavanah: intention Setting - Hashkata Meditation - Nigunim chanting (singing prayers) - A Teaching on the meaning of Liberation in Pessah and how the Seder helps embody it - Time for Q & A ********** This mini retreat will offer you the opportunity to: - Discover or deepen your practice of Jewish Meditation - Experience the power of extended meditation practice - Connect to the deep meaning of liberation on Pessah - Prepare internally for the Holiday ********** Tentative schedule (Pacific Time): 8:00-8:15 am Welcome and introduction 8:15-8:45 Opening sit 8:45-9:15 Opening the heart: Nigun (Prayer Chanting) 9:20-9:45 Meditation 9:45-10:00 Break/Mindful movement on your own 10:00-10.40 Teaching and Meditation 10:40-10:50 Q & A 10:50-11:00 Setting an intention for Pessah.
